The Pravian Faith
The Pravian Faith is led by a Holy Governor, who is seceded by Faith Keepers.
The religion has 2 main organizations, the Clergy & The Inquisition.
The clergy serves to manage the religious aspects of society while the Inquisition monitors and polices the population to ensure the proper worship of the Lord.
The Clergy
The clergy is the backbone of the Pravian Faith. They fulfill all the religious ceremonies and execute the law of the Lord.
Unlike the Inquisition, which has a head leader under one of the Faith Keepers, the clergy is under the general directive of the Faith Keepers. They act mostly on a local level. Their numbers total around 30 000 souls.
The selection process isn’t as rigorous as for inquisitors, but great devotion is still required. Although training can be done in any major town, most tend to travel to Alalia, to be as close to the religious center as possible.
Following graduation, the priests are assigned a location to serve in if required, acting as government officials, police, healers and of course, priests.
The first and foremost duty of any priest and acolyte is to make sure that the flame of any altar is never quenched, lest they want to face severe punishments.
The most important holiday is December 27th, known as New Age day.
This day marks the day the Lord has descended onto the Earth and shared his glory.
Other important holidays include:
The 1st of June – Day of Eclipse, when Apostates are burned en mass in pyres of fire.
The 16th of March – The First Light
The 4th of September – End of harvest celebrations.
The Inquisition
The Inquisition, led by Head Inquisitor JP, serves to police all the territories under Pravian control as well as gain intelligence of any nefarious plots by apostates to ensure that the practice of the Pravian Faith is done dutifully & without misconducts.
The exact number of Inquisitors is unknown and are estimated to number 10,000.
Only the most devout of Pravians are accepted, and all undergo rigorous training in combat, investigation & much more.
All Fragmen capital cities possesses a base of operation to report indecency.
Inquisitors normally work undercover, so outside of special circumstances do not wear their ceremonial robes. All inquisitors in the field have a letter from the Head Inquisitor himself, declaring their status as an inquisitor, as well as a golden badge with the symbol of the inquisition – an intricate relief of a flame with the motto “Adolebitque nos de hostibus Pravus”. The Inquisitors normally roam around the nation to protect it. Although celibacy is not required, as the Head Inquisitor is one, many of them followed in his steps.
