Factions
What are factions?
A faction is a group of 3 or more people, united under a common idea, opinion or theme. Even more simply put, they are a group of people that, for some reason, want to be together.
A faction consists of a leader, and any amount of other members. A faction may diversify their hierarchy further, but these two are found in every faction. A person must be at least Acolyte to join a faction and can only be in 1 faction at any given time, although they may choose to give their support unofficially.
There are two faction types – unofficial and official. Official factions go trough a verification process, and if successful, they gain benefits depending on the amount of members they have. Unofficial faction are factions that did not go trough the process, or no longer qualify per the given definition.
Faction rules
1) It is illegal to advertise your or any other faction to non-Acolyte members. It is not illegal to answer faction-related questions.
2) Users who aggressively advertise will be banned. Factions with repeat offences will be banned. Aggressive advertising includes, but is not limited to, coercing users into joining your faction, discussing the “Benefits” of joining your faction outside of #factions and zealously chasing users who have shown interest in joining factions.
3) Mean spirited actions taken against any faction (both unofficial and official) outside of roleplay will be punished. That includes spying and sabotage.
4) Factions leaders are responsible for the actions of their faction members in regards to all faction interactions. This includes, but is not limited to, recruiting & espionage.
5) Users below the rank of Acolyte are NOT permitted to join ANY factions. Any factions which are caught with Peasants in their server/club will be heavily punished.
6) All users wearing a faction tag without being part of it will be forced to remove said tag or join the faction.
7) No unwarranted soliciting while recruiting members, you may only ask someone to join the faction if they are already showing interest in factions – aka, asking to know about factions or generally discussing it. You may only invite said user only once per month, 3 times in total. Afterwards, you may not offer them to join your faction any more. However, they can still join afterwards of their own volition.
Factions who repeatedly are caught soliciting will be disbanded.
Faction memebrs
Faction members are the people that make up a faction. A faction member must be a part of the Pravus Fan Club discord server. If a faction member is not present on the discord server for longer than 1 week, he will be removed from the list of faction members found on .clubinfo, and the faction may lose bonuses due to this loss, as well as face additional penalties.
If a faction leader is not present on the discord server for longer than 1 week, his faction will be disbanded, unless the owner transfers the faction to another faction member, or requests staff to transfer the faction to another faction member of his choosing in that 1 week period. The club may be recreated, but no compensation will be given for it being disbanded.
How do I make a faction?
Making an unofficial faction is easy – just get some people together, and done. However, you will want to make your faction official, to reap those sweet benefits.
There are two main requirements for becoming official.
Member count – You must be able to show how many members your faction has, not just for the initial conformation, but also for the bonuses that come with different member counts. For that, you will need to use the clubs system of PravBot. You can find the list of applicable commands on the Bot commands page.
Presence in RP – Ultimately, becoming an official faction is purely a roleplay related matter. Your faction won’t gain any benefits outside of it. As such, your faction must establish itself in the already existing world. The best way to do this is to simply roleplay.
Once you feel like your faction fulfills both of these sufficiently, please DM Alpha (alphadragon2#0114) or any of the other Game Masters on Discord, and you will be either added in, or given guidance on what still needs improvement.
Officially established factions

Faction Wars Rules
Faction wars are fought between two sides. These sides are made up of one or several parties – factions, individuals, collection of individuals, whatever. The sides fight against each other in a predetermined manner, consisting of several phases.
Phase 1 – Declaration of War
In this phase, the war is declared. It is established who is on each side. Each side also chooses their representative(s) for diplomacy and military (may be the same person, or different people). A neutral party is also established, for the purposes of overseeing the war (by default, this is the PAE).
Phase 2 – Peace Terms Negotiations
After the representatives are chosen, it is time to negotiate the terms of peace for which the sides will be fighting for. This is done by the diplomatic representatives. Both sides propose what will be their offer for peace, and both sides must agree to the proposed peace terms. There are limits on what may be offered as part of a peace deal and what cannot.
Default allowed peace options:
Glinars
Temporary Military Alliance
Extended white peace
Non-violence agreements
Transfer of items that are not of the special type
To be extended
List of illegal peace options
Transfer of membership
Limitations on minimum/maximum amount of members in a faction
Transfer of Faith Keeper powers and/or Faith Keeper items beyond a short temporary time based arrangement
Divine favor
Faith Keeper personal lands
Phase 3 – Battles
After the peace terms are negotiated, the actual fighting may start. By default, the war consists of 5 pitch battles. Each pitch battle starts by the members of each side singing up to be part of the specific pitch battle. This phase lasts 12 hours. The individual members sing up by messaging the neutral party tasked with overseeing the war. The message must include their name, and optionally (very preferred) their PL (or at least their rank and knighthood status if applicable).
After the participants have declared their participation, faction resolve is calculated. The formula for faction resolve is (number of participating faction members * 100) * average participating party member PL^(1/2). The number is rounded down to the nearest whole number. This number is calculated for each sides parties together, not separately.
After faction resolve is calculated and all administrative manners are ready, it is time to enter the actual battle. Each member sends in their actions each turn to their respective military representative. Rolls will be made either by the military representative, or by a neutral party. All damage dealt reduces faction resolve instead of dealing damage to individual members. A spreadsheet of all the actions and other relevant information will be made publicly available. A battle ends when one side has their faction resolve reduced to 0 or surrenders. Either side may also surrender the whole war.
Phase 3,5 – Duels
After the participants of a given pitch battle are determined, but before the actual battle starts, members have the option to declare duels on each other. There may be as many people participating in a duel as they want, but most sides must agree on the members participating. A duel is fought like a normal combat encounter. However, anyone that dies/surrenders/flees the duel cannot participate in the current pitch battle and the following one (only in this war). This does affect faction resolve calculations. Members that survive may participate as usual.
Phase 4 – War Results
After all pitch battles are over, or if one side surrenders, it is time to calculate the war score for each side. The war score is based on the percentage of pitch battles won. Based on the war score, the distribution of the peace offers begins. Those peace offers which may be split will be split according to the war score of each side. Those peace offers that cannot be split will go to the side with the higher war score. These peace terms may be broken by either side, but such action may result in intervention of neutral parties.
Faction bonuses
The amount of bonuses your faction gets is based purely on the amount of people in your faction. Almost all of these bonuses are related to the Banner staff that faction leaders gain.
The Banner Staff
A stick with a white cloth pinned to it, with the symbol of the faction on the cloth. Filled with magic, it seems to grow stronger the more people are united under it. It is given to leaders of official factions, and may be upgraded to diversify it. The upgrades to the banner can come in the form of background colors, lining to the cloth or staff and other variations. All have an effect on how the magic of the banner is channeled. Only one cloth color can be had at a time (base white), everything else can be stacked, as long as you have the points.

Individual faction lore
If a faction reaches 15 members and keeps this number for at least a month, they can have their faction lore added to this page. They will be added in alphabetical order of their name.
BEAG
A long, long time ago, in the semi southern part of a continent far, far away, a man formed an alliance of bakers and farmers. Inspired by the factions of bygone years, and those of his modern day, he wanted to create something on par with their glory. Originally, they formed as a collection of bread followers of Pravus, but after allegations of heresy, they transformed into the modern day collective known as BEAG. Inspired by the stars above him, and the legends of empires spanning great distances of history, the man came up with the Bread Empire of the Andromeda Galaxy (a completely and utterly made up place, authors note). Quickly growing, the founder Tophat, took the role of leader of the group, referred internally as emperor. After much discussion and debate, the group shifted their governance, electing officials to offices of high power, while Tophat still remained in his old position, though with much less power. Stability achieved, the group continued on, through time, battles, and crisis, and still persists to this day.
USSR
The Union of Socialist Steak Republics, or USSR was founded a long time ago by a man named Sun Tzu. The USSR was founded on the belief that all Pravian people are created equal and thus should be given equal rights and that the nature of private property is itself against this ideal and that thus private property should be had at a minimum or be given to the communities themselves. Soon after its creation, it fought in two disastrous wars against BEAG. Sun Tzu was forced to resign shortly after their end. To determine his successor, he put it up to an election. Firesax won the vote with Deus in close competition. Some time after the election, a small war popped with a very minor faction which created a mockery of the USSR, causing them to ask for aid from BEAG. This was seen as a low point in the history of the USSR. But the time of FireSax had to come to an end. Once again, an election was held for who would become the new leader. Deus won the election by a landslide. He soon implemented a series of reforms to transform the USSR into one of the strongest factions in the Imperium. After the election, BEAG and the USSR remained in a sort of cold war, each trying to outplay the other.
