Your Character
What makes up a character?
The character you role play as is not necessarily same as you in real life. A character is made up of two types of stats – lore and game.
Game stats
Game stats directly impact the numbers when playing, but they might not be tangible in the roleplay sense. Examples of these would be Player Level, Attributes, Hit Points or Faith Points.
Your game stats are almost in all entirety based off the roles you posses on the server.
A more detailed explanation of what each game stat is, as well as what values are for which role, can be found on the Game stats page.
Lore stats
Lore stats do not impact the numbers when playing, but they do have an impact on how you play your character from a roleplay perspective (arguably a bigger one than game stats). Examples of these would be name, race, sex, appearance or personality.
Your character is always a human, one that has been indirectly blessed by Pravus to receive the ability to resurrect. Everything else is up to your own judgment, as long as it is realistically possible for this type of human to exist in the real world.
Creating a character
Creating a character can seem hard. As such, I will give you a guide on how to make one. There is also a character creation wizard being made by Dragon, coming soon. Do beware that this is not the only way to make a character, however I strongly advise that you do all the steps in the game stats category, in order to have a fully functioning character.
Let’s start with your game stats. Go to PFC, and there check all the roles you have. Take note of the highest XP awarded role, as well as any special roles.
Once you do that, go check the sheet on the Game stats page. Find the roles you have, and mark down somewhere (in a word document, on a piece of paper, whatever you want) your CL, HP, FP, Modifiers and equipment. Make sure that you mark down equipment from all your roles, not just the highest one.
In addition to stats gained from roles, mark down the stats that are same for everyone – that is speed and size.
Next, pick a class. You can pick any of the classes in the system. Mark that down. You can also multiclass.
After you pick your class(es), choose your active abilities, as well as any potential upgrades for said Active abilities. Be careful, as most classes don’t spend their FP on just active abilities – they also use it to cast spells or gain additional charges of Active abilities.
Regardless of the way you spent it, deduct the FP you spend in this way from your FP total.
And now you are done with game stats! It is time to move on lore stats.
You can skip this part and just leave it to how you feel in the moment, but it is better to get at least a rough idea about your character, to avoid inconsistencies.
Try to find an answer for some of these questions:
How do they look like? How do strangers feel when they see this person walk down the street?
What are they like as a person? Do they have friends, family, etc? If yes, what kind?
What do they do for the majority of time? What are their interest? What are their fears?
Keep in mind that all of these should not explicitly clash with the lore, given the class you have selected and the general state of the world. It’s okay to deviate, it’s not to outright deny it.
Simple character sheet
For ease of everyone’s mind, there is a fill-in PDF character sheet available for all you character creation needs. If you don’t like PDFs, you can also use the below image as a base.
