Pravian Imperium

Geography

Astral geography

The roughly earth-sized planet, fittingly also named Earth orbits around a rather young star, along with 5 other planets. Two are of the same rocky type and orbit closer to the star, while the rest are gas giants and orbit further away.

This Earth has two moons – Queth and Rozy. One of them is an illusion, while the other is a normal mass of rock floating around, being as inhospitable as ever. The illusory moon of Rozy is seen shifting places rapidly, and sometimes reported to be in the same position by people from different sides of the imperium (think moon rising both in Ossanaha and Raphao at the same time). Therefore, the other moon is used to keep track of the lunar time.

Continental geography

The continent that the Imperium is in the north hemisphere, with at least 3 other continents waiting to be explored. One of them already has permanent colonies established.

Bearing a rough trapezoid shape, the continent is about 4 600 km long and 3 500 km wide. Traversing it along the longer side in its entirety can take more than 3 months but taking the imperial highway can cut that time in half, and sometimes even more.

By far the biggest landmark are the conjoined Sora and Firmum mountain ranges, which span more than 4000 kilometers, the tallest peaks slightly over 11 kilometers tall. Full of all metals imaginable, the mountains are riddled with caves, mines, dungeons and forgotten passages that lead to some of the still not dead volcanoes. In the center are the rumored dragon nests of old, where all dragons hid their young in before they came of age. Many adventures have lost their lives (some even multiple times) trying to find the treasures the dragons hoarded. Nowadays they are overrun by monsters.

The second most memorable major bodies on the land are the four forests. Covering a good fourth of the land, these behemoths provide resources in the same mass as the mountains. Ariminium and Dertosa are mainly evergreen forests, while Attuatuca Tuder and Bustra consist of broad-leaf trees, with Attuatuca Tuder treading on the rain forest side as well. Home to equally many beasts, venturing into these unprepared is a death sentence of its own. However, with the exception of Bustra ancient ruins are most commonly found in these.

Rounding out the list of landmarks are the rivers of Sufatula, Navia and Adana. Their role in the imperium is that of transit lines, serving as the second best thing after the imperial highway. Navia is especially prominent in this, as it connects the Trade Fragmen to the rest of the imperium, being fairly reliable unlike any land based mode of transport, which is nigh on impossible. They also serve as borders of fragmens and sources of water.
